Description

Longmeadow is an organic certified farm in the Sooke River Valley. Longmeadow Farm offers a wide variety of vegetables, berries, fruit, eggs, herbs, and cut flower bouquets. The farm is situated beside the Sooke River. The farmers use about 1.5 acres for vegetable production. Another few acres are for pasture for seven sheep and free range for laying hens. The rest is left as natural meadow, forest and river bank habitat.

Longmeadow Farm’s grow set-up includes two tunnels for growing tomatoes, eggplant, cantaloupe, and peppers. After adding compost to the meadow field for three years, it now produces amazing broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower! This year Longmeadow is growing lots of new flower varieties for fresh bouquets!

Longmeadow’s philosophy is to respect the land and maintain and restore habitat for local plants and wildlife wherever possible.
