Description
OUR Ecovillage is a 25-acre Regenerative Living Demonstration Site and Education Centre founded in 1999. It is the most built-out permaculture design farm in Canada and currently has many interesting projects and stewards. As a non-certified organic farm, park, school, and residential community, OUR farm also hosts over 10K visitors in some form each year as folks come from all over the world to participate in the attempt to co-create integrated sustainable food systems, energy systems, low-embodied energy buildings, and regenerative human systems. Most of the buildings on the farm are made of beautiful sculpted earthen/strawbale/salvaged materials. Other attractions include a permaculture demonstration site, nature park space, and international crafts folk. This is a unique farm which works towards a homestead model and a farm-based learning community like the days of long ago!
